We manufacture our trim in-house and design it specifically around the clearances, joints, and movement of a functioning hidden door. The front trim is more than decoration—it helps finish the opening and visually integrate the door into the room.
Flat Case is the standard choice. Fluted and crown profiles add more visual presence, shifting the door from a simple built-in appearance toward a traditional furniture or library feature.

The more detailed the trim, the more the door reads as a built-in furniture feature. Choose based on the surrounding room—not simply the trim viewed by itself.
The front trim helps finish and conceal the door. Rear trim is optional and must remain unattached until the door is installed in the opening.
Our front trim is designed specifically for our hidden doors and is normally prepared or attached as part of the door package.
Rear trim may be selected as an add-on, but it cannot be attached before the door is placed into the rough opening.
Add “Please leave trim unattached” to the customer notes. We will send our trim loose with the door as a backup. Because outside trim is not designed around our door clearances and movement, we cannot guarantee that customer-supplied molding will work.
Flat Case Trim is the standard option for bookcase and mirror doors. Fluted, Crown, and Crown & Dentil are decorative upgrades where offered on the product order form.
Crown molding projects above and beyond the flat case, making it more vulnerable during freight handling. It is shipped loose to reduce the chance of damage and is attached during installation.
The door must first pass into the rough opening. Attached rear trim would overlap the wall and prevent the unit from fitting into place. Rear trim is installed only after the door has been secured and adjusted.
You may try, but we cannot guarantee that outside molding will provide the necessary clearances or move correctly with the hidden door. Request that our trim be left unattached, and it will be included loose as a backup.
No. Only the vertical sides are fluted. The top remains flat because horizontal flutes visually conflict with the vertical architectural treatment.
Yes. Case molding extends beyond the door jamb and crown extends farther still. Confirm that nearby walls, ceilings, cabinets, switches, and other obstructions leave room for the selected trim profile.
