# Hide-A-Way Doors, LLC

Limited Lifetime Warranty

Effective Date: May 2026

Hide-A-Way Doors, LLC manufactures handcrafted hidden doors, bookcase doors, mirror doors, concealment furniture, and custom cabinetry in Morristown, Tennessee. This Limited Lifetime Warranty applies only to defects in materials and workmanship arising under normal residential indoor use by the original purchaser at the original installation location.

1. Warranty Scope

This warranty is an express limited warranty and applies only to products manufactured and supplied by Hide-A-Way Doors, LLC. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser, only at the original installation location, and is non-transferable.

For purposes of this warranty:

**Lifetime** means the period during which the product remains owned by the original purchaser and installed at the original installation location.
**Normal residential indoor use** means use inside a finished, weather-protected, climate-controlled residential structure. It does not include commercial, hospitality, retail, office, institutional, industrial, multi-family common-area, or short-term rental use unless Hide-A-Way Doors expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
**Original shipment date** means the date the product leaves the Hide-A-Way Doors facility.

2. Warranty Coverage

Lifetime Coverage

Hide-A-Way Doors warrants the following components for the lifetime of the product against defects in materials and workmanship:

- Structural door frames and jamb assemblies
- Bookcase structures and cabinetry
- Concealment compartments and structural assemblies
- Shelving systems and fixed wood components
- Hinges, pivot hardware, and mechanical support systems
- Drawer slides and cabinet hardware
- Mechanical latches, catches, and locking hardware
- Structural reinforcement components supplied by Hide-A-Way Doors

If a covered component is determined by Hide-A-Way Doors, in its reasonable discretion, to contain a manufacturing defect, Hide-A-Way Doors may elect to repair the product, provide replacement parts, or replace the defective component.

Five-Year Coverage

The following items are warranted for five (5) years from the original shipment date against defects in factory workmanship and application under normal indoor conditions:

- Factory-applied paint finishes
- Factory-applied stains and clear coatings
- Decorative veneers
- Mechanical locking systems
- Keyed locks and deadbolts

Covered finish defects are limited to peeling, delamination, cracking, or adhesion failure caused by a defect in factory workmanship or application. Normal wear, scratches, dents, fading, discoloration, patina, oxidation, and damage caused by improper cleaning methods or products are not covered.

One-Year Coverage

The following items are warranted for one (1) year from the original shipment date against manufacturing defects:

- Electronic locks
- Keypads
- Fingerprint readers
- Wireless access devices
- Remote controls
- Power supplies
- Battery backup systems
- Motorized accessories and automated opening systems

Electronic components supplied by third-party manufacturers are covered only against manufacturing defects that arise within the applicable warranty period. Such components may also be subject to separate manufacturer warranties where applicable.

3. Delivery Inspection and Reporting Requirements

The purchaser must inspect all products immediately upon delivery. Any claim involving shipping damage, concealed freight damage, missing parts, cosmetic defects, finish defects, visible manufacturing concerns, or order discrepancies must be submitted in writing to Hide-A-Way Doors within five (5) business days of delivery.

Failure to report such issues within five (5) business days will cause the product to be deemed accepted as delivered. Claims involving freight damage, cosmetic defects, missing components, finish irregularities, visible concerns, or order discrepancies reported after the inspection period are not eligible for warranty coverage and may not be submitted as warranty claims.

Damage occurring during transit must be noted at delivery when reasonably apparent and reported within the inspection period. The delivery inspection period may not be used to extend, replace, or circumvent this warranty, and this warranty may not be used to extend, replace, or circumvent the delivery inspection period.

4. Environmental Conditions

Because Hide-A-Way Doors products contain natural wood and wood-based materials, the products must be stored, installed, and maintained in a climate-controlled indoor environment. Unless otherwise stated in writing by Hide-A-Way Doors, the installation environment must be maintained within the following ranges:

- Relative humidity between 35% and 55%
- Temperature between 60°F and 80°F

Exposure to environmental conditions outside these ranges, including excessive dryness, excessive humidity, standing water, water intrusion, condensation, or non-climate-controlled conditions, may cause movement, warping, cracking, finish failure, or other damage and is not covered.

5. Exclusions from Coverage

This warranty does not cover:

- Improper installation
- Improper handling or storage
- Misuse, abuse, neglect, or accidents
- Damage caused during installation by contractors, installers, or third parties
- Damage caused by moving, relocating, or re-installing the product
- Exposure to excessive humidity, moisture, flooding, water intrusion, standing water, or condensation
- Exterior installations or use in garages, porches, outbuildings, basements with uncontrolled moisture, or other non-climate-controlled environments
- Commercial, hospitality, office, retail, institutional, industrial, or other non-residential use unless specifically covered by a separate written warranty
- Normal wear and tear
- Cosmetic damage reported after the inspection period
- Building settlement, structural movement, or framing irregularities
- Scratches, dents, chips, or finish damage occurring after delivery
- Damage resulting from improper cleaning methods or cleaning products
- Acts of nature including fire, flood, tornado, hurricane, lightning, earthquake, or other natural disasters
- Glass, mirrors, batteries, touch-up materials, bulbs, or other consumable items
- Labor charges incurred without prior written authorization from Hide-A-Way Doors
- Drywall, paint, flooring, trim, finish work, access work, or other construction-related expenses
- Loss of or damage to contents stored in or behind the product

6. Conditions That Void Warranty Coverage

This warranty becomes null and void if any of the following occur:

- Alteration, modification, or repair by any person or company not authorized in writing by Hide-A-Way Doors
- Modification of hinges, pivot hardware, latching systems, locking mechanisms, shelving systems, or structural components
- Use of replacement parts not supplied or approved in writing by Hide-A-Way Doors
- Removal and reinstallation of the product at a different location
- Installation contrary to Hide-A-Way Doors installation instructions
- Improper storage prior to installation
- Exposure to excessive moisture, standing water, or environmental conditions outside normal residential indoor use or outside the environmental ranges stated in this warranty
- Overloading shelves, drawers, compartments, or door systems beyond intended capacity
- Sanding, refinishing, repainting, restraining, or otherwise altering factory-applied finishes
- Failure to properly maintain the product
- Unauthorized structural modifications to the product or surrounding installation area

7. Natural Characteristics of Wood

Hide-A-Way Doors products are built using natural wood and wood-based materials. Variations in grain pattern, color, texture, mineral streaking, knots, sapwood, character marks, and other naturally occurring characteristics are normal and are not considered defects.

Wood products naturally expand and contract in response to changes in temperature and humidity. Minor movement, seasonal expansion or contraction, slight dimensional changes, and minor panel movement are normal characteristics of wood products and are not covered under this warranty.

8. Adjustment and Maintenance

Hidden door systems contain moving components that may require periodic adjustment during the life of the product. Normal adjustment of hinges, pivots, latches, catches, shelving, drawer alignment, or other moving hardware resulting from regular use, building settlement, framing conditions, or environmental conditions is considered routine maintenance and is not covered unless Hide-A-Way Doors determines that the condition was caused by a manufacturing defect.

The purchaser is responsible for ordinary maintenance, including cleaning with appropriate products, tightening accessible fasteners when needed, replacing batteries, and obtaining routine service for adjustable or wearable components.

9. Concealed Storage Disclaimer

Hide-A-Way Doors products are designed to provide discreet storage and access solutions. The purchaser remains solely responsible for the safe, secure, and lawful storage of firearms, valuables, medications, documents, and all other contents placed within or behind any Hide-A-Way Doors product.

Hide-A-Way Doors assumes no responsibility for theft, unauthorized access, misuse, loss, damage, injury, or legal violations related to stored contents or to the use of any locking, concealment, or access-control feature.

10. Custom Products

Many Hide-A-Way Doors products are manufactured to custom dimensions, customer specifications, or customer-selected configurations. Custom products are covered under this warranty only for defects in materials and workmanship.

Custom products are not returnable or refundable because of customer-provided measurement errors, field-condition errors, installer errors, design approval issues, changes in project requirements, aesthetic preferences, or other non-defect-related reasons.

11. Warranty Claims Procedure

To submit a warranty claim, the purchaser must contact Hide-A-Way Doors and provide:

- Original order number or proof of purchase
- Description of the issue
- Photographs of the affected area
- Installation address
- Date of installation, if available

Warranty claims must be submitted promptly after discovery of the claimed defect. Hide-A-Way Doors reserves the right to inspect the product, request additional documentation, require return of components, and require a return merchandise authorization before any component is returned.

No labor, removal, installation, reinstallation, shipping, or service work will be reimbursed unless Hide-A-Way Doors expressly authorizes the work in writing before the work is performed.

12. Exclusive Remedy and Limitation of Liability

The sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty is repair, replacement, or replacement parts, as determined by Hide-A-Way Doors in its reasonable discretion. Replacement parts or components may be new, refurbished, repaired, or of comparable style and function if the original item is unavailable.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hide-A-Way Doors shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of use, loss of property, loss of contents, lost profits, lost revenue, lodging expenses, travel expenses, contractor fees, delay damages, or project-related costs.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply in every case. This warranty gives the purchaser specific legal rights, and other rights may vary from state to state.

13. Disclaimer and Limitation of Implied Warranties

THIS WARRANTY IS THE SOLE EXPRESS WARRANTY PROVIDED BY HIDE-A-WAY DOORS, LLC.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ANY OTHER IMPLIED WARRANTY ARISING BY LAW, COURSE OF DEALING, COURSE OF PERFORMANCE, OR USAGE OF TRADE ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE APPLICABLE EXPRESS WARRANTY PERIOD STATED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.

SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY IN EVERY CASE.

14. Governing Law, Venue, and Severability

This warranty shall be governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this warranty or the product shall be brought exclusively in a court located in Hamblen County, Tennessee, and the purchaser consents to that venue and jurisdiction to the fullest extent permitted by law.

If any provision of this warranty is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
