About This Item

  • Specifications: Fits rough openings ranging from 26" to 50" wide and 62" to 98" high. (For smaller openings, see our Attic Hidden Doors.)
  • Jamb / Wall Depths: 4" minimum to 6-1/2" maximum for in-swing doors. No wall depth restrictions on out-swing doors. Jambs and thresholds are constructed from solid pine.
  • Weight Capacity: Rated for up to 300 lbs. For best performance, heavier items should be placed on the hinge side of the bookcase.
  • Hinge System: Our proprietary Bookcase Door Hinge Pin System transfers the weight of the bookcase and its contents directly to the floor. The threaded top hinge pin and bookcase can be removed to provide additional pass-through clearance for large furniture or bulky items.   • Customizations Available: Custom sizes, bookshelf depths, hardwood species, paint and stain finishes, clear coats, swing direction, trim packages, locking systems, cabinet doors, mirror backing options, 3/4" thick rear panels, and arched panel designs.
  • Latching: Every bookcase door includes a mechanical latch designed to support the weight of the bookcase while maintaining proper alignment and secure closure when not in use.
  • Locking Options: Available mechanical key lock or electronic locking systems rated at 1,000 lbs. of holding force. Electronic systems can be paired with a programmable keypad, FOB remote, or biometric thumbprint reader. Requires a standard 110V household outlet. Power supplies are included; wiring and installation are not included.
  • Book-Tilt Latching Hardware: As seen on TV, our Book-Tilt opener remains a customer favorite. Open your hidden door by activating a concealed book mechanism. Installation not included.
