  • Specifications: Designed for door openings 50" to 88: wide, and 62" to 98" tall rough opening, and also available in custom widths and heights to fit libraries, home offices, entertainment rooms, primary suites, and other residential applications.
  • Storage Configuration: Dual full-size bookcases provide expanded shelving capacity while concealing a doorway behind a center-opening French door design.
  • Jamb / Wall Depths: 4" minimum to 6-1/2" maximum for in-swing doors. No wall depth restrictions on out-swing doors. Jambs and thresholds are constructed from solid pine.
  • Weight Capacity: Each bookcase door is engineered to support real books, décor, collectibles, and display items while maintaining smooth operation and proper door alignment.
  • Hinge System: Our proprietary Hidden Door Hinge Pin System transfers the weight of each bookcase and its contents directly to the floor. The threaded top hinge pins and bookcases can be removed to provide additional pass-through clearance for large furniture or bulky items. Designed for openings 48" and wider, the French Bookcase Door provides substantially more storage and display space than a traditional single hidden bookcase door. The symmetrical design creates a balanced architectural appearance while maintaining complete concealment.

Each French Bookcase Door is handcrafted from real hardwood—never MDF or particleboard—and built using our reinforced hidden-door frame and concealed hinge system. Both bookcases operate independently or together, allowing smooth, quiet operation while supporting the additional weight of larger double-door assemblies.

Full-depth shelving and adjustable hardwood shelves provide ample storage for real books and decorative items. Unlike decorative bookcase facades, these are fully functional load-bearing bookcases designed for daily use.
