How it began

One customer asked for something better.

In late 2015, a client approached our parent company, All Work Contracting Services, with a challenge. He wanted a hidden bookcase door without the obvious gaps, weak materials, or compromises he found elsewhere.

“I don’t want any signs that it’s a door. No swing gaps. And I don’t want it made from MDF.”

We designed and built the solution ourselves. That first project became what is now known as the Alpha Door—and Hide-A-Way Doors was born.

Our first trade-show display taught us that people wanted more than a secret passage. They wanted to turn an ordinary doorway into useful furniture and a remarkable part of the room.
